The interior of the 2025 Seltos will provide significantly more space for passengers and cargo than the Hyundai Kona. The materials used throughout the cabin are sophisticated enough to look showroom-perfect alongside the brand’s excellent Telluride SUV. Interior lighting is standard on the more expensive SX model and can be programmed to light up in time with music, similar to the system available on Kia’s smaller Soul SUV. During our test drive of the pre-facelift model, the cargo compartment easily swallowed our luggage, backpack, and picture bag; We could store eight carry-on suitcases in the cargo hold and 20 suitcases with the rear seats folded.

2025 Kia Seltos Engine
Kia provides two alternative four-cylinder engines in the Seltos: a 2.0-liter with 146 horsepower and a turbocharged 1.6-liter with 195 horsepower. We tested the Seltos with the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine and found its power to be more than adequate. The turbocharged Seltos hit 60 mph at our test track in 6.9 seconds.
All trim levels except the S and EX come standard with all-wheel drive. The Seltos has a firm but mostly smooth ride, and it handles quickly for an SUV—much more engaging and composed than rivals like the Jeep Compass and Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. When we can test the revised Seltos at our base, we’ll update this report with acceleration test results and more driving impressions.
Kia Seltos MPG
We expect the Seltos to achieve quite efficient MPG figures. Front-wheel-drive vehicles equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine are expected to achieve speeds of up to 34 mpg on the highway. On our 75-mph highway fuel economy test route, the all-wheel-drive Seltos with the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine returned 32 mpg.
